Water supply pipes

In fitting water piping or an entire water system, the following points are important:

  • the choice of material (copper or flexible pipes);
  • the distance between the water heater and the hot-water taps;
  • the diameter of the pipes, in order to achieve the correct water pressure.

Do you think of having an outdoor tap, your washing machine relocated, or even a major structural alteration? We shall be happy to come round to examine and discuss your options and to offer expert advice.

Does your home still have the old pipework made of lead? It is advisable to have these pipes replaced. Such pipes are more prone to leaking; moreover, it is detrimental to health to take your drinking water from such pipes.

Legionella prevention and water security

Poorly safeguarded water pipes, inadequately insulated pipes and stagnant water may allow the Legionella bacterium to multiply. Commercial premises are particularly susceptible. Legionella-infected water may even flow back into the mains, thus contaminating the water in your pipes time and time again. This can be prevented by strategically inserting one-way valves into the system and by properly insulating cold-water pipes against warming.
